Prof. André Bardow, PrISMa PI, spoke on Carbon Capture and Utilization at the Association for the Operators of Swiss Waste Recycling Systems (VBSA) annual conference in Olten on December 6, 2022. He highlighted the PrISMa platform to screen adsorbents for CO2 capture. Waste treatment plants are a major source of CO2 in Switzerland, still present also in future net-zero scenarios. Since half of the CO2 emissions from waste incineration are biogenic, they can even provide carbon dioxide removal. The PrISMa platform could identify adsorbents and processes that minimize cost and environmental impacts.
